Faith’s Class: Term 4 Week 3

Happy Week 3!

This week, the Chatterboxes began exploring Volume in Maths, starting with a really fun morning investigating the concept of capacity. We brought out a big collection of different bottles and containers and experimented with filling them using water, dirt and sand. We practised using language such as full, almost full and empty. Some of the Chatterboxes chose to extend their learning by comparing the capacities of different containers through filling and pouring.

Our end-of-year play is also starting to come together! This week, we held our first official script read and began practising our lines. We explored the difference between character dialogue and stage directions, making little tweaks to the script as we went. We also got stuck into building our set pieces, cutting and painting large cardboard boxes to create landscape pieces. and painting them. It was a great class bonding activity, with everyone working together to make it happen.

PIPs have moved into the Chromebook stage and our Elders have been fantastic teachers! Everyone managed to get their presentations set up and begin researching their chosen topics. It’s been wonderful seeing everyone get stuck into their projects and take the next steps towards creating their presentations.

Heads up that next week the Chatterboxes will be chairing school meeting!

That’s all from the Chatterboxes for this week.

Have a great weekend!
