Jess and Susan’s Class: Term 4 Week 3
Dear Parents,
What a busy and productive week we’ve had!
A huge thank you to everyone who supported our Wednesday stall, where we raised over $450 for the Khamai Foundation! A fantastic effort by everyone involved.
Concert preparations are continuing, with plenty of rehearsals, costume making and prop creating keeping us busy.
In maths, we wrapped up our learning on mass, volume and capacity, and we have continued exploring data. Data linked nicely with our skeletal system escape room we used for our reading activity. The children worked in teams to solve clues and break codes. It was particularly interesting watching the different approaches to teamwork and problem-solving. We’ve already had requests for more escape rooms! Next week, we’ll continue to explore teamwork and discuss strategies for working collaboratively.
We also enjoyed a successful trip to the 50m pool at Lane Cove. The children demonstrated stamina and persistence as they completed laps using kickboards and their chosen swimming strokes. We also revisited safety jumps in the deep end and practised floating in the shallow end. As we’re swimming in the outdoor pool, a rash vest is a great idea for extra sun protection. Sunscreen is also available for the children to use.
This term is flying by! See you in Week 4.
Warm wishes,
Jess and Susan
