FAQs
We understand that choosing the right school for your child is a big decision. Here are answers to some of the most frequently asked questions about Currambena School to help you make an informed choice.
General Questions
At Currambena, we believe in fostering a love of learning through a child-centered approach that encourages curiosity, creativity, and collaboration.
Currambena is an inclusive environment however, it is not a specialist school and emphasises the development of every child equally. If your child has higher needs or learning or behaviour difficulties we recommend that you contact the school to discuss your individual situation.
Admissions and Enrollment
The application process at Currambena is simple and straightforward. The first step is to attend an information morning. After this you are invited to fill out our application forms (preschool and/or primary school). If a place becomes available you may be invited for an interview after which your child might be offered a trial day.
Attending the Preschool is not a prerequisite, however it is strongly encouraged and increases the likelihood of securing a space in the Primary School.
Curriculum and Programs
We follow and meet all the requirements of the curriculum set by the NSW Education Standard Authority (NESA). However, our curriculum planning is designed to be flexible and holistic, integrating academic subjects with arts, physical education, and experiential learning opportunities.
Physical development, music and art are part of the core curriculum, however currently on site we also have drama, guitar, piano and comic writing classes available.
