Sarah’s Class: Term 4 Week 3
Dear Parents,
We’ve had a terrific and diverse week. Performing our play – in full – for Bec was exciting and she offered a wonderful suggestion to the children, to imagine their characters with greater depth and scope and accentuate everything you are already doing, ie. making it larger than life! And then Thursday – saw our greatest rehearsal – yet!! Props and costumes continue to be made and added to as the days keep ticking away before the big night.
For our Maths focus we have been looking at Fractions and now moved on to Time: recognising the difference between Analog and Digital and writing the time for both. We visited the library on Monday and returned to the pool for swimming. The pool was met with lots of excitement as we jumped into our designated 50 metre lane. The length brought on a challenge for some but the morning was gorgeous and the pool so inviting that any nerves felt at swimming further into the deep end became an invitation to extend themselves.
Congratulations to Jess’ group who successfully ran a stall and raised money for their chosen charity. The inclusion of a raffle provided a few children with a lesson in ‘Chance’ and that purchasing a large number of tickets doesn’t always guarantee you are going to WIN. There were a few children who felt disappointment in this lesson. Hard but important.
And there was our Halloween parade which is always a bit of fun for the children to get dressed up and show off costumes.
Swimming will happen again on Tuesday this coming week. So please make sure your child has packed all their gear.
That’s it!
Love, Sarah
