Wendy’s Group Week 6 Term 3
A highlight this week was our visit to Kinma on Thursday for the Musica Viva performance called Imagination Exploration. The four musicians were fabulous and engaged the audience really well… and after the performance, our kids had a wonderful time playing in Kinma’s amazing playground, which has areas of grass, climbing equipment, swings and a tree house without guard rails all on a site largely unfenced. Some of our children really connected with their age peers at Kinma and I hope we’ll be able to make time for another get-together before the end of the year. Kinma Group 3 has year 4, 5 and 6 together… 29 children with 2 full-time teachers, Kate and Kimberley, who are as keen as I am to get at least our groups together for another visit soon. Kinma’s coordinator, Felicity, has said she’d love to repeat the Musica Viva concert sharing again in 2026 so that would be great too.
We had a good week again here at school and enjoyed some lessons from Loki on 2D shapes, poetic forms and indigenous caring for country. Lots to think about. We also wrote some thank you letters to people who have helped us recently and these will be in the (snail) mail very soon!
Wear It Purple Day on Friday was good fun. Louie and Kitty read a wonderful story at School Meeting about some children making a cubbyhouse and including everyone. Many of us wore purple and, in the afternoon, we had some purple jelly and blueberries.
CAMP DATES
I hope everyone has received the information that our Jervis Bay camp dates have been changed to the week beginning Monday 24th November. We will be away from Monday to Friday, camping in tents, cooking all our own food and spending time on the beautiful white sand of Greenpatch Beach. parent helpers are needed for this camp so please email me if you are interested in coming to help with the camp. There will be lots to do in the weeks before and also after this camp and I’ll hold a meeting about it early in Term 4.
Next week, I will be away on Thursday and Friday. Pepper will be taking the group and Loki will be here so the two days will run as usual with Craft, ERICS, PIP work and Free Friday with folders.
We also have another Information Morning on Wednesday so it will be another busy one!
Have a good week.
With love, Wendy
