The Ladybirds Week 6 Term 3

Hi everyone,

We are over half way through the term!

It was a really big week for us ladybirds. We began speaking about prepositional language. We created an obstacle course in the classroom and then mapped it out and labelled it using our prepositional language words to describe it. Throughout the week we continued practicing our use of prepositional language to describe the location of different objects. On Wednesday, we celebrated Pirate Day! We created treasure maps and pirate hats as well as swords. We did a treasure hunt, putting the parts of the map together as a puzzle to help us solve the location of the treasure. In the treasure box we found pirate tokens which the children had to work together to see how much they had, they practiced dividing it fairly amongst the group and then worked together to see how they would spend it at the Pirate Shop! Ending the day with our Pirate Parade Party!

On Thursday, we visited our friends over at Kinma for the Musica Viva interactive concert. It was an interactive session where the kids learnt about beats and getting inspiration for the most random of places. After the session we had a big play with the children at Kinma and greatly enjoyed exploring their school!

With love,

Meg
