The Ladybirds Week 3 Term 3
Hi everyone,
We’ve had a fantastic week full of learning and fun!
In Maths, we continued exploring doubles and took our learning outside to the basketball court. Through games and activities, we strengthened our understanding of doubles while also revising 2D shapes.
In English, we’ve been working hard on developing our writing skills. Previously, we focused on finishing sentences, but now we are beginning to create our own sentences. It’s been great to see the students growing in confidence.
In PDH, we started learning about self-appreciation and the importance of recognising that everyone is unique. We read a story about how all stars are different, and how those differences make the night sky beautiful. To finish the lesson, we each created a star to represent ourselves, adding it to our classroom night sky display.
A quick reminder that school starts at 9.00 am. Arriving before 9.00 am helps students settle in and get ready for a successful day of learning.
Next week is Science Week, and we are starting with an exciting excursion to Sea Life Aquarium on Monday! We will begin the day by creating group agreements before catching the bus to Darling Harbour. There, we’ll have a play at Tumbalong Park and enjoy the view of the harbour before heading into the aquarium. After our visit, we will return to school for lunch and some free play.
Please remember to pack a hat and plenty of food in a small, lightweight backpack, as children will be carrying their bags during the aquarium visit.
Looking forward to another exciting and engaging week ahead.
Warm regards,
Meg
