The Ladybirds Week 3 Term 1
Week 3 in the Ladybirds has been a busy one! In maths, we dove deeper into numbers, exploring them through building, writing, and drawing. We also had fun with shapes, learning how different shapes can be used to create pictures and representations of objects.
In English, we began our very first interest topic: Hats! We discussed what we already knew about hats and their different purposes. We then read a story and reflected on the various types of hats, discovering that they are not only used for protection, but also serve as identifiers of who we are, represent roles in the community, and can even have cultural and religious significance. We wrapped up our Hat investigation by reading The Kinder Hat and creating our own hats using craft supplies. The best part was having a dance party and showing off our creations to the preschoolers!
On Friday afternoon, you may have noticed a blue folder coming home. This week, we started sticking some of our work into our workbooks, and many students are excited about it! The blue folder contains work that doesn’t fit into our workbooks, such as our bilateral drawing activities and other fun tasks we’ve been completing. It’s a great way for you to see what we’re up to in class! Please remember to return the folder on Monday so we can add even more exciting work to it soon.
With love,
Meg (and Sarah D)
