The Ladybirds Week 2 Term 4
Hi everyone,
This week in Maths, we began exploring the concepts of weight and mass. The children had a great time pretending to be scales, comparing different items to determine which were heavier, lighter, or the same weight.
In English, we focused on adjectives and how they help us convey detailed information. The students worked in small groups, taking turns to draw and describe images, discovering just how powerful descriptive language can be.
It was a big week in PDHPE! On Tuesday, we had our very first group adventure to the pool. There was lots of splashing and laughter, and we’re already looking forward to our next visit as we continue building confidence in the water. On Wednesday afternoon, we had a beautiful session about self-kindness and celebrating what makes each of us special. The children reflected on their skills, abilities, and personal traits they love about themselves.
A huge thank you to Pepper for leading the group on Friday, your support is always appreciated!
Swimming Volunteers Needed
We’re always on the lookout for swimming volunteers. If you’re available to help, we’d love to have you join us. You don’t need to get in the water, just having extra eyes around the pool is a big help. Please fill in the parent volunteers Google Doc I’ve shared with your availability.
School Concert Costume Help
With the School Concert fast approaching, we’ll soon begin creating costumes and props. The children will be designing their own, but we’ll need extra hands in the craft room. If you’re available to assist, please let me know, there’s a job for every skill set and level!
Bring on Week 3!
With love,
Meg
