Sarah’s Class Week 9 Term 4
Dear Parents,
What a ride, what a whirl, what a year!!!!!!!!! I have absolutely LOVED teaching your gorgeous children this year and it has been such a pleasure to watch them grow, develop and come together so beautifully. Their achievements are many but most noteworthy in their personal interest projects and confidence to challenge and push themselves. There has been a huge shift in their sense of selves and being able to see outward, acknowledging others and learning the true meaning of the word ‘EMPATHY’. All the social emotional learning we did on character traits and strengths has really been showcased in their interactions with each other and myself.
We have started our Kris Kringle note giving this week and the children are very excited to give and receive messages, trying to guess who their KK is. Gift giving will take place next Wednesday, on the last day of school. There is a monetary amount of $15 they can spend and they will need to, if time, make something as well. Please help support your child to make this happen. As I mentioned in a separate email we will go up the street to buy lunch and watch a movie.
Summerhill Day was another delight with – once again – some wonderfully varied activities for the children to choose from. I had a gorgeous time playing Pickleball with some older children and chess with a few from Meg’s in the afternoon. Some really good little players in this group, it threw me!!!
Well, I think that’s about it folks. Thank you to all of you for your direct and indirect support throughout the year, and for entrusting me with your most precious cargo on this journey, called LIFE! Farewells to Beni, Catalina, Sienna, Zara and their families, we will miss you and hope you take away some wonderful memories to hold dear into the next adventure.
And…… Last but not least, Wendy. My dear, dear friend and mentor. Words do not suffice the gratitude that so many people would feel for the years of dedication, devotion and love you have given the Currambena community. For myself, I am a much better teacher and person because of you and I am so forever blessed for your friendship and support over the years. I am just so relieved that it’s not ‘goodbye’ from the school and the community forever, just yet!
I will look forward to seeing those of you who can make it to our final “HOORAH” on Wednesday afternoon, at school, for 2026.
Love, Sarah
