Sarah’s Class week 8 Term 4

Dear Parents,

What a big week! Camp for the elders, as I am sure you’ve already heard, was so great. So many children pushed themselves out of their comfort zones and stretched their physical and emotional goal points. There were scratches, bruises, bumps and bites which were all part of being in the bush. We had night time activities which saw the group running and hiding. They climbed further than they would ever thought, swung from great heights, they problem solved social situations and managed to get through 2 nights feeling homesick. It really changes children. Jess and I were supported by two fabulous camp leaders across the days whom the children became close to. Overall, The Great Aussie Bush camp was a wonderful experience we would love to return to next year!

Back at school, Pepper said the small group she had were delightful. They made Christmas decorations out of dough, cooking and painting them. They completed their last unit in their Soundwaves. And with Jess’ class being away, they were lucky to have 2 x Craft sessions.

I was away Friday, mending a sore lower back from pulling canoes out of the water and now a cold. Thankyou, Faith who held down the fort while I was away. I’ll also be away, on Monday, tomorrow and Pepper will be there with the group. Monday, the children will return to the library, so please make sure all books are brought back from home.

I will be sorting Project presentations out on Tuesday with the children and will then email who will be presenting when.

Love, Sarah
