Jess and Susan’s Class: Week 9 Term 4

Dear Parents,

The highlight this week was, of course, our camp at Kincumber. We had a wonderful, and very busy, three days packed with activities. I was extremely  impressed with the children’s stamina and delighted to see every child challenge themselves and step outside their comfort zone. I hope they all feel proud of their achievements and carry that sense of accomplishment with them moving forward.

The  big swing was a particular favourite, as was our first evening activity, ‘Commando’, a more complex version of ‘Spotlight’ that involves running through and hiding in the bush. The children embraced both the fun and fear, working together beautifully and supporting one another. Another standout activity was shelter building. All children enjoyed the task, even when they experienced moments of disappointment as their shelters collapsed and they had to start again. Watching them persevere, adapt their designs, and ultimately succeed was a wonderful reminder of their resilience and ability to work in a team..

It was inspiring to see the children embrace every challenge with such fun and determination. I’m sure the camp experience will contribute to their growth both individually and as a group.

Warm regards,

Jess
