Jess and Susan Week 8 Term 2
Dear Parents,
Art Week has once again been a truly inspiring experience. The children had the opportunity to collaborate with professional artists to create large-scale group lanterns resembling a Loch Ness monster, and a dragon. They also worked to build and decorate their own individual lantern, ready for next Tuesday evening’s social event. Some of the new skills they had to learn were quite challenging, but it was heartening to see children of different ages supporting one another. These multi-age, school-wide activities play an important role in strengthening our community by fostering relationships across classes.
In other news, we managed to squeeze in some mathematical revision using the split strategy for the mental addition of larger numbers. We also completed our Soundwaves textbooks and have read quite a number of chapters from our class novel “Leo and Ralph”
I hope you’ve all had a beautiful weekend and I look forward to seeing you on Tuesday night down at Tambourine Bay.
Warm regards,
Jess and Susan
