Amelia’s group week 4 term 3
Happy Science Week everyone!
We have had a fabulous week exploring all things science. Continuing on from our natural disasters lesson last week, we created our own volcanoes using air-dry clay and set off our own eruptions using a chemical reaction between bicarb soda and vinegar. The children had such a wonderful time modelling, designing and painting their volcanoes, and I was pleased by the effort and focus on the use of appropriate colours or textures as well as the details of the surrounding area.
Unfortunately for our whole school science experiments on Friday I had to leave a bit early as I was feeling unwell, but all reports were fantastic! It seemed to be a huge success with children from each class group running an experiment they had completed sometime in their class early in the week. Grace, Ellie, Sophie, Nyra, and Oce ran volcano eruptions in the sandpit and seemed to have a lot of fun engaging with a range of children from around the school.
Next week on Monday, we will have Savannah starting her first day with the class group. We also had quite a lot of work done underneath our classroom last week, so it is looking hopeful that repairs are underway and to be completed very soon!
Also, thank you to those of you that have come in for a parent interview during the last two weeks. It is always lovely to have this time to sit down and reflect on your children’s year so thank you all for taking the time to speak with me. I am looking forward to my last few next week!
