Amelia’s Class Week 2 Term 4

Hi everyone,

I hope you are all well. We have had a very busy week introducing some of our new learning and starting discussions about our class play for the school concert. We have decided on our narrative for the play, and the children chose their characters. We also spent a bit of time exploring our characters further and drew diagrams of the costumes the children will be making over the next four weeks in their craft sessions. I am very excited to start rehearsals next week and see how our play unravels!

We begun learning about capacity and volume for the term, with Archana’s help in my absence on Tuesday and Wednesday. We will delve deeper into measuring 3D volumes and understanding the need for different forms of measurement as well as the need for accurate measurement.

The children had a fantastic PIP session on Thursday, where all of the groups finished their big questions, and starting creating a Google Slide. I am so impressed and pleased with the elders in the group, for taking charge of their challenge as teachers, and being respectful, compassionate and enthusiastic role-models for the juniors. There were some beautiful moments between the children, and I am extremely impressed by the connections and community our class group have built and continue to grow this year.

We are going to the Lane Cove Library next Monday with Sarah’s group, so please pack any returns!

If you would like to join us for swimming next Tuesday, please add your name to the shared Google Doc.
