Wendy’s Group Week 6 Term 4
Just a short piece from me this week! We are so busy with play preparations as well as camp!
Everyone has been rehearsing with enthusiasm and we’re hoping we’ll all have fun on Friday night! It is such a brilliant learning opportunity for the children, being involved in all aspects of planning, writing a script, creating costumes, memorising lines, rehearsing and then the final performance. Truly child led and valuing their creativity. Our entire play was written by the children, including my brief lines!
As well as camp discussions and play rehearsals, we’ve managed, in English, to learn about modality and identifying subjects, verbs and objects in sentences. We’re making good progress with our shared book and everyone is enjoying silent reading in class very much. In maths we practised reading and writing am/pm time and 24 hour time, as well as times tables as usual. Most PIPs are finished now or almost so… and last minute props and costumes are being created in the art room as I write (Thursday morning).
Thank you to the parents who are coming with us to camp or who have signed up to help with jobs. And thanks to Jo for prompting helpers via the WhatsApp group. I hope you will all have seen the final email home by the time you read this. It has information about cars and contact details. I feel sure our Year 4 people will have a good week with Sarah D and enjoy the planning for their camp the following week. Such a busy time of year!
We should be back by 4pm on Friday 28th. It will be an enormous help if some parents can help bring the gear in from the cars and trailers and store it safely in our room for sorting the following week.
With love,
Wendy
