Wendy’s Group Week 6 term 4

The year is accelerating towards its end at an alarming rate and our last few weeks together as a group are all going to be very full! Now that the play has been performed and we can start preparing for camp, everyone is realising how few days there actually are left before the holidays.

I do want to say again how very proud I feel of our group for writing, rehearsing and performing their play The Price of Fame all in five short weeks. The main writers were (in no special order) Evie, Zali, Scarlett, Louie, Phoebe, Emme, Ariel, Carrie, Lilith and Harriet and they wrote the play entirely on their own. Such an amazing achievement! All the actors did wonderfully well on the night and of course, as always, it was so interesting to see the developmental progression from the preschoolers, a couple of whom were obviously overwhelmed by the hall and all the people, through the increasing confidence of the groups with their incredible costumes and huge enjoyment of the whole event. Congratulations to all the performers and a huge thank you to Jess Poole for giving her time to be there for all of us, doing the sound and lights for both rehearsals and performances. Thanks from me to Nate, also, for doing our music clips for us!

This week we have started Kris Kringle and so, notes and letterboxes are everywhere. We are organising camp things and finishing PIPs and working out how to manage to put a Year Book together for the kids! Watch your emails for details of this… thank you Genevieve, Sido and Wynton! Year 6 Leavers are writing their My Time at Currambena (if they haven’t already!) and also working on their Leavers Project… not quite as last minute as last year! We are also completing a final few topics in maths, English and geography.

HATS REMINDER: all the children need to have a wide-brimmed hat with their name on it at school every day please.
