Wendy’s Group Week 2 Term 4
This week in Maths, we explored the fascinating world of 3D shapes! Using isometric paper, students enjoyed the challenge of drawing their own designs and developing their spatial reasoning skills.
Our class play is coming together wonderfully! The students have been hard at work writing lines and designing fabulous costumes. A special highlight was Monday’s visit from Bec, a talented drama teacher, who shared her expert guidance to help us bring our creative ideas to life.
Tuesday was a splash! We started with diving practice and worked on refining our swimming strokes. After completing some solid laps, we made our way to the leisure pool, where the students had a blast creating a giant class whirlpool.
In English, we sharpened our writing skills by focusing on prepositions and punctuation. The students are showing great improvement in structuring their sentences more effectively!
In HSIE, we explored the importance of Country to Aboriginal peoples, connecting this understanding to our preparations for camp. Each student also wrote a mini-PIP (Personal Interest Project) on a topic they wanted to explore further or weren’t familiar with, showcasing their curiosity and research skills.
It’s always tough when Wendy isn’t here, but the class has shown incredible respect and enthusiasm despite her absence—thank you all! A special shoutout to Lily and Jessica, Wendy’s visiting student teachers, for their fantastic support throughout the week.
We look forward to welcoming Wendy back and celebrate her exciting news.

PS from Wendy
Many thanks to Meg, and also to Jessica and Lily, for taking my group this past week. It sounds as if they had a good week and, best of all, the play is just about written! Well done everyone. Thank you for being there while I had a wonderful week with my daughter, her partner and their brand new baby boy, Arthur.
I also want to remind our class parents about the camp meeting I have scheduled for Monday evening 28th at 6pm. This meeting is essential for any parent hoping to stay overnight with us at camp in Jervis Bay in December. We will discuss the camp itself and I will run an induction session for parent helpers. Please email to let me know you are coming.
Have a lovely weekend.
Love,
Wendy
