Wendy’s Group – Term 2 – Week 7
Hi everyone. Winter has certainly arrived this week and we’re very grateful for the in-floor heating in our room!
This week, being short, we’ve focused on finishing off some things: writing up science experiments, making textbook pages excellent and finishing PIP research and PIP art works. I’m looking forward to the presentations which will begin next Thursday.
Summerhill Day was great fun as always and I particularly loved working with an extended Algebra group this time and seeing them understand and enjoy solving equations and beginning to graph their tables of values! Poetry reading and writing was also fun as we shared some poems we like…. and the rice paper rolls were delicious. Well done to everyone for a great day.
Several members of our group have been away this week with a nasty cold. I hope everyone will be well again soon.
We said farewell to Daniel on Wednesday and we wish him well in his new role. Many thanks to Olivia for taking on the extra responsibilities involved during this time.
Next Tuesday we are off to Synergy for the day. I still need quite a few of the photo permission forms returned please.
Children will need:
– warm clothing (we’ll be outside at Pottery Green for some of the day)
– Lunch
– Water bottle
– A hat
– Personal medication (including asthma puffer or EpiPen if required)
– (Optional) wrappers, containers or other items of rubbish for “Amazing Waste” Relay.
It should be a fun day.
There is quite a lot of excitement in the room about the Ball on Friday 21st! Decorations are being made and the ball committee is busy with all sorts of preparations. I understand the two chaperones have yet to be confirmed….
There is also excitement about the Year 6/7 night tonight (Friday)! The focus is on giving the current Year 6 students the chance to ask last year’s leavers about their first six months of high school. I’ll write a summary of the discussion for the next newsletter.
Have a great week!
Love,
Wendy
