Wendy’s Class Week 8 Term 3
One day hot, next day cold! I hope everyone manages to stay well in this variable weather!
Many thanks to Pepper and Loki for managing the group on Thursday and Friday last week. This week, we have had fun with persuasive language in a debate that Loki organised. We focussed on 2D and 3D shapes in Maths and have made good progress in our Geography topic with an interesting lesson on landforms from Loki. PIPs were due this week and we hope to begin presentations in the coming week. As usual, if your child is very keen for you to come and observe their presentation, please make sure they let me know and we’ll do our best to choose a day and time that works. Because this is not always possible, I’ll be encouraging the children to at least have one practice presentation at home. This gives you a chance to help with tricky pronunciations and also to hear it for yourself.
Our PE session with Susan at Pottery Green was good fun. Many thanks to Susan! The afternoon revealed some terrific soccer skills and everyone participated extremely well.
Summerhill Day on Wednesday was heaps of fun with a wide range of activities on offer. I was delighted with my algebra group first thing… some of them staying back into the next session to do some extra! It was also, as always, fun that the rice paper roll making was such a popular session, with the children so enthusiastic about such healthy food!
For PE in Week 10, and for an end of term treat, we have booked a session at Ultimate Trampoline Park for Tuesday 23rd from 10 til 12. Thank you to Cathy and Yaoming/Emily who have offered to help by driving us there and back. We need spaces for 6 more children so maybe two more drivers please! We will leave school by 9:30 for the trip to Northmead which will take around 30 minutes. We hope to be there for the start of the session at 10am. Socks are required, preferably with some sort of grip on the soles. A signed waiver is also required for each child to jump. I will send this home in an email next week.
Thank you so much to the gardening team who have been making a difference around the school these past few weeks. Also many thanks to the kids on the drains job for Sustaining Currambena. They did a great job of clearing out the drain at the bottom of our steps.
It was lovely to see Evie, Tt and Puffin on Friday. They were all a wonderful help on a busy Friday. It’s always great to see our wonderful Currambena graduates and hear how they are going. They certainly seem to have taken high school in their stride.
It was also wonderful to see a brilliant group of parents and teachers at The Canopy on Saturday. A fantastic idea.. thank you to everyone involved.
