Newsletter T3 W1 – Wendy’s Class

Welcome back for term three, I hope everyone enjoyed the break!

This week Wendy has been away at the APDEC (Asia Pacific Democratic Education Community) conference in Indonesia and I have had the opportunity to get to know her wonderful group of students.

We have launched straight into new PIPs. We spent some time reflecting on the PIPs from last term and the feedback the students received. They thought about what they did well and what they need to improve on, which will help to inform how they approach their next project. We have also started choosing topics and thinking about our subheadings and research.

The Ball committee has met, and things are moving along nicely, they have the playlist and run sheet organised and teams in charge of food, drinks, and decorations. The committee would like to request that everyone please bring their $3 contribution to school by week 2, so that the necessary purchases can be made.

Even though it is a short week, the students have made a great start on their maths and spelling units. We have also been trying out some options for a new class novel for this term, reading the first chapter of a few books to help us decide which one the class would like to continue to read together.

Thank you for having me this week, it has been a pleasure to teach in Wendy’s class and we can’t wait to hear all about her trip and the conference when she returns next week.
