Vinnie’s Group Week 2 Term 4

Hi all,

Thank you for the gift on Friday, it was a wonderful surprise!

We managed to get to the pool this week and the children seemed to have a great time playing together.

These last two weeks the children voted on different ideas for our play. We have had long discussions and drafted a script. All the children have chosen different characters and we will begin rehearsing this coming week!

At the start of every term we discuss things we would like to learn about. A reoccurring interest in this age group has been gems and crystals. This might have something to do with all the hidden gems they have been finding in the sandpit over the years. This term we will integrate learning about Gems, Crystals and Minerals, with our persuasive writing. If you have any gems or crystals that you would feel comfortable loaning to the classroom or if you have a particular interest and would like to share this with the class please let me know.
In our discussion about interests, the children have also heavily indicated they would like to go to the aquarium this term. I will see where we can fit this into our term with the school concert and end of year beach day.
The group also showed an interest in some more activity sheets/work books.

Towards the end of last term we introduced the phonemes: sh, ch, wh, th with some accompanying camera words. We have also started another set this term: ll, ff, ss, zz.
Please come and collect phoneme display sheet from me if you would like to display it in your home.

In our class meetings this term we decided to brainstorm and agree to some new class agreements.

They are displayed in the room and are:

We will use gentle voices and reminders.
We will listen to each other.
