The Space Explorers (Amelia’s group) Week 5 Term 2

I hope you are well.

We have had a very busy week this week!
The group finished up with the main portion of our maths unit on place value. We started our next focus area on shape and geometry by reading the beautiful book ‘Shapes of Australia’ by Bronwyn Bancroft. We discussed the 2D shapes that make up most of the landscapes on the pages and the use of colour and pattern to represent natural features in Australia. The children created their own landscapes using appropriate shapes to build up their chosen landscapes.

On Thursday, we went up to the Lane Cove canopy for the Children’s Voices for Reconciliation. It is always a lovely experience to go and show support for Wendy‘s class, Meg’s class and Preschool who all did a fantastic job.
