The Purple Hearts Term 3 Week 7
Hi all,
We have had a terrific week this last week. We learnt about our new dinosaur the Triceratops which means Three Horned Face.
We also had our Biggest Child Safety Lesson by the Daniel Morcombe Foundation. This touched on our previous learning about safe adults, early warning signs as well as going into more detail about Enthusiastic and Affirmative Consent/Permission. Furthermore, we looked at clear boundaries and the change when clear lines are blurred.
Tuesday was Jump Rope for Heart Day. Wendy’s class showed the whole school a demonstration of different types of skipping.
Summerhill Day was on Wednesday last week, and the children did an amazing job at choosing different activities to sign up for. They enjoyed things like bushwalking, pancake making, origami, algebra and stopmotion.
Summerhill Day has been a reoccurring day at Currambena for a long time and it is so wonderful to see the mixed aged play as children choose to do different activities around the school in different rooms with different teachers as well as taking some time to free play.
The week after next is our excursion to the Australian Museum the 19th of September. Please let me know if you are coming on the bus with us to help with supervision.
It was wonderful having our midyear interviews with everyone.
