The Ladybirds Week 7 Term 3

Hi everyone,

This week in Maths, we explored addition and subtraction, using number lines to help solve problems. We had fun revisiting the concept by jumping along the number lines like little bunnies and big kangaroos!

In HSIE, we discussed our connection to the local area and read the beautiful story Cooee Mittigar, which means “Come Here Friend” in Dharug. The story introduced us to Indigenous animals from our region. We loved learning the Dharug names for these animals and playing games to help us remember them. To finish off, we created our own illustrations of the animals and labelled them using their Dharug names.

In English, we focused on working independently to apply our knowledge of sounds in our writing. We practised writing and spelling a range of words to build our confidence and skills.

On Tuesday, we had a fantastic time at Sport, which was hosted by Wendy’s class. The students enjoyed taking part in various skipping challenges and practising their movement skills.

With love,

Meg
