The Ladybirds: Week 5 Term 2
It’s hard to believe, but we are officially halfway through Term 2! This week has been full of exciting learning and memorable moments.
We had another wonderful visit from Wendy, where she taught us about the importance of listening to others, not just with our ears, but with our eyes as well. We explored how to identify and understand other people’s feelings, an important skill for building empathy and connection.
In Maths, we’ve been continuing our focus on numbers, specifically 11-20. The students enjoyed another fun session with Oops the Puppet, who hosted a party where they had to collect items in specific quantities, practicing their number skills along the way!
This week, we also took the time to learn about Sorry Day and Reconciliation Week. We explored what these significant events mean in terms of Australia’s history (past, present, and future). This learning was especially meaningful as we participated in the Children’s Voice for Reconciliation Concert at the Canopy. The kids had a blast preparing and performing alongside the Preschool, celebrating this important cause through music.
A big highlight this week was our turn to run the School Meeting. Huge congratulations to Anja and Zahli, who did an incredible job speaking in front of the whole school and ensuring the meeting ran smoothly.
We’re looking forward to another fantastic week with the Ladybirds!
With love,
Meg (and Sarah D)
