The Ladybirds Week 3 Term 2
In Maths, we focused on rational and robust counting, which means understanding that the number of items doesn’t change just because they’ve been moved or rearranged. We had lots of fun teaching “Oops the Leopard Puppet” how to count his cookies while preparing for his party!
In English, we enjoyed reading with Kathryn (Noah’s mum) and continued to practice our handwriting and reading skills.
In our Integrated Investigation Unit, “Marine Monsters,” we explored the ocean food chain. We played a food chain game, where we pretended to be plankton, fish, and sharks. We also created our own food chains to understand who eats who in the sea. As part of this unit, we began our investigation into specific creatures and learned about the clownfish and its special relationship with the sea anemone.
In Music, we’ve been learning the song “Baby Beluga,” and in Craft, we created artworks inspired by the song. Stay tuned for this exciting project!
On Friday, many of us came together to create a class colouring/drawing. We had a blast drawing and colouring sea creatures as a big group!
Next Monday, we’ll be heading to the library for the first time this term! Please make sure you’ve visited the library to set up your child’s library card, and don’t forget to pack a library bag so they can easily carry their books back to school.
Looking forward to another fantastic week in the Ladybirds!
With love,
Meg (and Sarah D)
