The Axolotls: Term 3 Week 2

Hi everyone,

Thanks to the Axolotls for another great week! It has been such a pleasure teaching them while Joanna has been away.

During the week we completed literacy stations, soundwaves, looked at the letter W in handwriting, investigated 3D shapes in maths and began our sport rotations. Two highlights of our week were making plaster bas relief sculptures in craft. The students picked 3D objects and completed these over three lessons. We have them to take home at the end of this week.

Another highlight was walking to the park. We visited the Secret Garden with Faith’s class and Michael. Here we played a big group game of soccer, climbed trees, made fairy gardens, played games and swung on the swings. The children did an excellent job walking to the park safely and there was lots of cross-class play.

Joanna will be back on Monday and I look forward to the next opportunity to work with the Axolotls.
