The Axolotls: Term 1 Week 10

Dear families,

What a busy and wonderful term it’s been in the Axolotl class. The children have settled in so well and they are continuing to let their individualities and passions shine. Many existing and new connections have been built between our elders and juniors, and I hope to continue to nurture this throughout the year.

Our elders have fully embraced a sense of responsibility and leadership, often reminding me about routines around the school! It’s been such a pleasure to see how our juniors look up to them, and benefit from their guidance and kindness.

Our juniors have shown open minds and curiosity to new areas of learning, such as phonics, reading, and numeracy. As well as tackling that tricky rope climb up to the treehouse!

This week the children enjoyed concluding some of our learning projects and units of work, visiting the library, performing their class song in music, swimming (elders), lots of egg hunts and counting the eggs, and cooking in Spanish.

We are all looking forward to a restful break with our families, and returning back for term 2 in a few weeks.
