School Meeting Minutes 9th August Term 3 Week 3

Chaired by Ezra and Sophie (Amelia’s Class)

1. Acknowledgement of Country

Ezra and Sophie read their class’ acknowledgment to the local Indigenous communities.

2. Wheels agreement by Sarah

Sarah brought up the agreements about wheeled vehicles in the playground as a large number of children are using them at the moment during break times. We discussed the boundaries of where they can be ridden, and where they cannot, and some reminders to always wear a helmet and shoes as soon as they are in use, even when entering the gates.

3. Lost Property by Wendy

Wendy reminded everyone to please check the lost property after the school meeting, which will be placed on the benches at the blue umbrella. Wendy also reminded everyone to write their name on their clothes so we can easily return them to the owner.

4. Book Week by Josh

Josh H wanted to ask if he could wear a weapon as part of his costume for book week. We discussed how previous agreements have been for weapons to be kept behind their teacher’s desk until the parade. The school voted with the majority agreeing for Josh H to have his weapon, so long as it followed these agreements.

5. Garden near preschool by Abi

Abi wanted to ask everyone to respect the garden outside preschool so that the flowers and plants to grow. If you are walking past, please go around the garden bed and try not to step on the plants.

6. Scooters and swinging by Abi

Abi also suggested for those that who are using scooters at the moment, to be careful when swinging their scooters or doing tricks, as it can be a safety hazard to other people around them.
