Sarah’s group week 7 Term 4
Dear Parents,
I hope you’ve all had a nice weekend. After coming down from the high of last week’s concert we’ve had a good week. There were quite a few camp meetings spread across the week. Lots of questions and little anxieties we needed to discuss but both Jess and I are looking forward to going with the group, and they are excited too. My younger group stayed in the classroom and did some SML = self managed learning. There was reading, story writing, handwriting, finishing off of their Soundwaves and comic book making going on. Only a few times did I need to poke my head through the door to quieten the noise level down.
On Tuesday we went swimming with Olivia – who was looking after Wendy’s younger group who did not go camping – and swam lengths in the 50 metre pool. It’s been great to see some of my children, especially, embrace their fear and challenge themselves jumping in from the deep end to swim.
Wednesday and Thursday, I was away and Pepper took the group, and she said they were great! They did a writing activity which was received with enthusiasm and a drawing activity too. They all sat back-to-back with a partner and had to draw a picture while giving their partner clear instructions to draw the exact same picture without looking. Pepper said they started with a simple one and then more detailed – it was pretty fun and quite tricky for some!
Pepper will be with the group (staying at school) next week while I am on camp and I will look forward to seeing everybody again, on Thursday!
Love, Sarah
