Sarah’s Class Week 9 Term 3
Dear Parents,
I hope you’ve had a nice weekend. This week we delved into some Poetry writing and Bella introduced to the group how to write an Acronym and a Haiku poem. The children wrote some lovely Haiku’s……..
Fatima: Penguin waddles, on iceberg, ice is very cold
James: The scaly snake, slithers silently, in the grass.
Xavier: The rough brown tree, stands tall, in the wind.
Beni: Deadly crack bones, Tasmanian Devil, sneaky, fast, v-shape, quiet for its prey.
Max: Leafy green tree, sways slowly, around in the dirt.
For our Maths topic, we looked at TIME this week and explored o’clock, half past, quarter past and quarter to, and counting minutes by 5’s. Bella also introduced how to read a digital clock. We’ll continue with TIME again next week. Of course, we visited Lane Cove library, and had a fabulous music lesson learning how to play “Shotgun” by George Ezra on the ukulele. For our PE this week we got the Pickleball sets out and worked on hand eye coordination with a partner and also played matches.
Our Rock and Water focus was on being a True Friend and learning to Trust each other. One partner needed to be grounded (in their Rock) to support their friend to then lean on them.
Next week, we go trampolining on Tuesday to Gladesville “Flip-Out”. Thankyou, to the parents who have kindly offered to drive us there and back. We leave at approx 9:45 am for a 10:30 – 11:30 AM ‘Jump’. Please make sure your children are wearing appropriate clothing for this activity. Also, in our final week, we will be sure to vote on a movie for our last day and I imagine the children will want to walk up the street to buy their lunch.
That’s it!
Love, Sarah
