Sarah’s Class week 6 Term 4

Dear Parents,

What a gorgeous night it was on Friday night. I thought all the children’s performances were fabulous and the costumes amazing. Congratulations to all the teachers too! A massive shout out and thanks to Steve (Eli’s dad) who is an extraordinary technician, syncing all our music and slides.

Other things we’ve been chugging away at, in the little time there was left outside of rehearsals and costume making have been…… completing another Spelling unit and lots of Maths text book work. In this, I am noticing children really improve on their accuracy to mentally compute. Some children have been choosing to do additional work (in their book) as an option in their free choice time.  We had a discussion about our dominant and non-dominant hands and after writing and drawing, compared the difference. It was quite an amusing little experiment. We also did a lot of reading, silently to ourselves and to others.

Next week, I am away on Wednesday and Thursday, so Pepper will be with the group. The week after that is the Year 3/4 camp and Pepper will be with the year 2’s and some year 4’s who are opting not to go.

That’s a rap for another week folks!

Love, Sarah
