Sarah’s Class: Term 3 Week 4

Dear Parents,

We’ve had a good week this week, checking back in with our Ancient civilizations topic. We watched an ABC episode of “History Hunters” which explored the Aztecs, their ceremonies, civilization and lifestyle. We learnt how shields were used for status and importance and that the grander the design the more important the person was. So, we were enthused by this and the children started drawing/designing a shield and will (after Art Week this coming week) make it!!!

We also did LOTS of measuring – 2 days of it – learning the difference between Volume and Capacity and millilitres and litres. Another Soundwaves spelling unit was completed and extra pages in the children’s Maths Mentals focusing on practice and consolidation using the 4 operations.

Next week, as previously mentioned in a separate email we have our excursion on Monday. Tuesday, we have a Science morning where all classes will rotate between 2 Science activities for the first inside time. In the afternoon is the last PE choice for the 1st round and then Wednesday – Friday we have our Comicon ART WEEK with various activities focusing on filmmaking and comics.

That’s it for our week folks!

Love, Sarah
