Preschool Term 3 Week 7

Hello everyone,

Another action-packed week in preschool, with lots happening.

Lisa, Abi, Anna and I all felt very special on Wednesday when we were unexpectedly presented with a beautiful card filled with gorgeous messages and lovely photos of children and families in preschool, and very generous gifts for Australia’s Early Childhood Educator Day.

We didn’t head off to the park on Monday due to the strong winds, nor did we venture outside to play to ensure everyone was safe. At one stage in the day the winds were so strong we couldn’t play on the veranda due to wind blowing the sand onto it. We did however have our last DJ class for the term with the children really loving being able to speak using the microphone. On Tuesday as always Buddies was enjoyed by all. We had a lovely visit to the Library on Wednesday where we enjoyed some great stories based on crocodiles.

A friendly reminder that we request you bring your child to preschool as close as possible to 9am on a Monday as we head off to the park and on alternate Wednesdays when we are heading up to Lane Cove Library. This allows everyone time to settle into the preschool day and gives teachers enough time to get everyone ready. To ensure we aren’t rushed on the days we head off on our routine excursions we’ll be holding morning meeting at 9:15am.

Children’s group time continues to be a highlight of the preschool day. It’s fantastic to see the children putting a lot of thought and effort into what experience they would like to run. We are keeping a list of who is running these activities to ensure it is equitable among the children as we are with all other experiences children can take part in.
