Preschool News: Week 8 Term 4

Hello everyone,

We have had a fun and busy week as we move toward the end of the preschool year. It has been wonderful welcoming our new families during our first orientation session. The children were fantastic hosts, showing genuine curiosity and confidence as they shared their space. We have two more orientation mornings scheduled across the final two weeks of preschool, and we are looking forward to meeting the next group of children who will join our community in 2026.

We would also like to extend a heartfelt thank you to all the families who attended the Maintenance Day last weekend. Your time, hard work and willingness to roll up your sleeves make an enormous difference to the Currambena environment. The children benefit so much from the care you put into their spaces, and we are deeply appreciative of your support in keeping Currambena vibrant, safe and beautiful.

We also want to extend a heartfelt thank you to Chris, who has been joining us to sew with the children. Her time, patience and energy have added something truly special to our program. The children have thoroughly enjoyed the opportunity to explore sewing, create with new materials and learn alongside her. We are grateful for the care and creativity she brings to our preschool community.

Much of our focus this week has been on preparing for our Thank You Afternoon Tea. The children have been practicing their serving routines, hospitality skills and collaborative decision-making with great enthusiasm. There is a real sense of pride building as they rehearse what it means to be welcoming, thoughtful and responsible hosts. We are very much looking forward to seeing everyone next Thursday for this special celebration.

With only a handful of preschool days left for the year, we are taking time to enjoy these final moments together. The children continue to embrace learning, play and connection with one another, and it’s lovely to see the community of learners they have become.
