Preschool News: Week 3 Term 4

Hello everyone,

It’s been another lovely week in preschool, with plenty of concert rehearsals filling our days with music, movement, and excitement. The children are growing in confidence as they remember their songs and actions, and we’re all looking forward to sharing their performance with you soon.

Alongside our concert practice, we’ve been continuing our focus on protective behaviours and problem-solving in play. Through stories and puppet shows, the children have been exploring how mistakes and challenges can help us learn, and how to work together kindly when things go wrong. These discussions have encouraged the children to think about fairness, empathy, and different ways to manage problems when they arise.

There’s also been a strong interest in games and puzzles, with many children working together to complete challenges, taking turns, sharing ideas, and showing wonderful collaboration and persistence. A special thank you to Kioto in Meg’s class for the kind donation of a new game.

We also joined in the whole school Halloween Parade on Friday, celebrating with lots of colour, creativity, and confidence. Most of the children chose to dress up and take part alongside the older students. It was lovely to see such a great turnout from families and to share the excitement together.

A big thank you also to the families who came along to our maintenance afternoon, your help and care for our school is always appreciated. And to those who have been helping with laundry, we’re so grateful. If you happen to have any of our cleaning cloths at home, we’d love to have them back as we’re currently out and needing them for daily use.

Finally, a gentle reminder to please take a moment to read your child’s Storypark observations. These take considerable time to create and form an important part of our program, capturing each child’s unique growth, interests, and learning journey. Thank you to the families that take the time to read these.
