Preschool News: Week 1 Term 4
Welcome back, everyone!
It has been a really calm and engaging start to Term 4. The children have returned eager to be back together, quickly picking up right where they left off. There has been a lovely sense of connection across the group, with lots of interest in building with LEGO, imaginative play in the kitchen, and reconnecting with peers and educators.
This week we also began our concert preparations for the Currambena School Concert, which will be held on Friday of Week 6, 21 November, at the Norths in Cammeray. The children have started brainstorming songs and performances, and there is already a lot of excitement and some nervous participation in the air. We will also be hosting our annual Thank You Afternoon Tea later in the term and beginning orientation visits for the children transitioning to primary school, both special milestones in the preschool year.
Our Wednesday group will be heading off to Lane Cove Library for stories and borrowing, and depending on the weather and children’s preferences, we may visit Kimberley Playground on Monday for some outdoor exploration and play.
As the days are now warmer, please remember to pack a hat and to apply sunscreen to your child before they arrive at preschool each morning. We will help ensure reapplication during the day so that everyone stays protected.
There has been a great deal of interest in reading this week, with children sharing stories with peers, setting up cosy reading spots indoors and outside, and discussing their favourite books. Alongside this, we explored air-dry clay, soap making, and started designing our T-shirts for the concert. The creativity and enthusiasm have been wonderful to see.
Finally, a huge thank you to all the families who came along to our Maintenance Day or helped out in other ways, whether that was tidying up, doing laundry, or tackling items from our end-of-term maintenance list. Your help makes such a difference, and we are very grateful.
