Preschool News Week 1 Term 3

Hello everyone,

Welcome back for Term 3, we’re now over the halfway mark of the school year!

It’s been a great (albeit short) week in preschool. We’ve seen some lovely moments of collaboration and connection as the children settle back into preschool life, with some returning for additional days and others joining us for the first time.

Next week, we’re heading out on our regular routine excursions (weather permitting). On Monday 29th July, we’ll walk to Kimberley Playground for our fortnightly park visit. Then on Wednesday 31st July, we’ll head to Lane Cove Library for our scheduled library time. Bringing your child to preschool as close to 9am as possible ensures they have time to settle in and get ready to head confidently into the wider Lane Cove area.

We’re pleased to welcome Serena, a student from Swinburne University who’s currently completing her Bachelor of Education in Early Childhood and Primary. Serena will join us from Week 2 until the end of Week 5 for a four-week practicum.

Lisa will return to preschool on Monday 5th August. Michael and Abi will continue working in the preschool throughout the week, each working 3–4 days. A big thank you to both, and to May, for their contributions over recent weeks. For those who may not know, Michael was a teacher in the preschool for over ten years and also attended Currambena as a child. May has been supporting us on a casual basis for the past couple of years.

A heartfelt thank you to all the families who helped over the school holidays, whether it was completing maintenance jobs, taking home the laundry, or offering other support, we really appreciate it. Thanks also to those who contributed towards our new sandpit, the fresh sand has been a big hit!

Love,

Katrina, Abi, Michael and Lisa
