Preschool News: Term 4 Week 1

Hello everyone,

Welcome back!

We’ve hit the ground running in preschool this term. It’s our busiest term, with lots happening. We have the End of Year concert coming up in week 5 and the annual Preschool Thank You Afternoon Tea towards the end of the term (the date for this is yet to be finalised), both huge events for the youngest people in the school and highlights of the year.

We’ve had a new family join us in preschool this term. A warm welcome to Deeba and family who joined us this week. Deeba has slotted straight in, with it instantly feeling like she’s always been with us after only a day!

This week we’ve been discussing and negotiating what the children would like to perform at the concert. It hasn’t taken us long to figure out what we will be doing, with it all being finalised by the end of the week. The cohort are mostly feeling confident, comfortable, and very excited about hitting the big stage. It’s great that we’ve already had a similar experience performing at The Canopy earlier in the year with Children’s Voices for Reconciliation.

We headed up to Lane Cove Library on Wednesday and had a great time in craft on Thursday with the children producing some wonderful self-portraits. The revamped wooden slide has been a huge hit in preschool and primary with lots of play and connections being made here.

On Wednesday 30th October, Vision Screening will be at preschool offering free eye screening tests for all children. There are permission notes in preschool that families need to complete should you wish your child to take part.

I’ll be away from preschool for a couple days next week as I’m heading up to Queensland as my nephew is getting married. Michael and May will be in covering for me during my absence.

Lastly a big thank you to all the families that assisted us with the end of term washing and cleaning. We really appreciate it!

Love

Katrina, Lisa, Abi and Anna
