Preschool News: Term 3 Week 6
Hello everyone,
It’s been another busy week in preschool, with plenty of opportunities for play, investigation, creativity and connection across our days.
Book Week brought some extra excitement to Currambena. Thank you to everyone who joined in with Monday’s Book Parade and supported the Buy a Book morning. We also enjoyed being part of the visiting illustrator session, adding to our ongoing conversations about books, stories and how ideas can be expressed through words and pictures.
Across preschool, children continued to move between lots of small hubs of play. Construction, puzzles, drawing, dramatic play and active outdoor experiences all featured strongly. We also explored insects through observational drawing and a scavenger hunt, with children searching outside for insects, rainbows and other items and using tally marks to record what they discovered. A big thank you to Dani, Indi and Arti’s mum, who brought us a wonderful box of blood oranges and juicers to juice them into some delicious juice. The children had a fantastic time squeezing the oranges to make their own juice, before cutting up and sharing the fruit together.
Our Buddies continue to be an important part of our week, providing opportunities for children to connect with older peers and strengthen their sense of belonging within the wider Currambena community.
Wear It Purple Day on Friday was lots of fun, with plenty of purple and rainbow colours around the school. Meg’s class organised purple drinks and a dance party to raise money and awareness, and it was lovely to be part of a whole-school celebration of inclusion, acceptance and everyone’s right to be themselves.
With the warmer weather arriving, please remember that legionnaire or broad brimmed hats are required in preschool in accordance with our SunSmart practices. Unfortunately, caps don’t comply with our required sun protection practices.
Finally, preschool class photos will take place next Monday and Thursday at 9.30am, so please arrive promptly on your child’s photo day.
