Preschool News Term 3 Week 2

Hello everyone,

It was definitely a celebratory week with birthday celebrations literally at the end of every day!

On Monday the children participated in their first DJ class with Nacho Pop, AKA Dash’s Dad, Nate. The children were enthralled and are very much looking forward to the next class. We had our first Buddies for the term on Tuesday. We had a brief check in meeting at the start with everyone in Preschool, happy to continue on with the buddy they already have.

Abi’s musical skills have been put to good use as the children in the preschool’s “Silly Band” continue to work on composing their first song. We’ve provided opportunity for children to further develop skills in resolving conflict through some explicit teaching in group times as well.

The children’s ongoing interest in hitting the preschool stage to perform in front of others as well as engagement in dramatic play involving weddings have been highlights of the preschool week. It was gorgeous to see many of the children in Wendy’s class head into preschool on Wednesday when they heard one of the Preschool children call out to others in the playground that there was a preschool wedding. It’s heartwarming to see how supportive and genuinely caring the primary children with the preschoolers.

Lastly, thank you to Susan and Sarah, teachers in primary for supporting preschool on Friday when a couple of teachers were away. It was a lovely opportunity for the preschool children to get to know them.
