Preschool News: Term 2 Week 10
Dear Families,
What a great week we’ve had! Our days have been filled with successful routine excursions, music, cooking, and plenty of opportunities to learn and play together.
We kicked off the week with our very first excursion to Kimberley Playground on Monday, and what a fantastic morning it was. The children had so much fun exploring the playground, challenging themselves physically, and enjoying time together in a different environment.
On Wednesday, we headed to Lane Cove Library for our fortnightly visit. The children really impressed us with the way they managed themselves throughout the excursion. We arrived a little earlier than expected, so we spent some time singing songs outside before heading in for storytime. Once inside, the children listened well, enjoyed choosing books, and enthusiastically filled their library bags to bring stories back to Preschool.
Music with Kym continues to be a highlight of our week. We’ve enjoyed learning some new songs, and the children always look forward to singing, moving, and making music together. Cooking has also been a popular experience, with the children enthusiastically taking part in preparing and enjoying what they’ve made.
Looking ahead, we’re hoping to head out on another excursion this coming Monday. At this stage, the weather forecast suggests rain, so the excursion will be weather dependent. I’ll let families know on Monday morning whether we’ll be going ahead. If the excursion does proceed, we’d really appreciate children arriving as close as possible to 9:00am so we can leave promptly, make the most of our time away, and return in time
for children who would like to purchase something from the canteen.
Thank you for another wonderful week. We hope you all have had a relaxing weekend, and we look forward to seeing everyone again for the last week of the term.
Warmly,
Katrina, Lisa, Meeta and Lida
