My Time at Currambena by Phoebe

Hi I’m Phoebe.
I moved to Currambena at the start of 2020 after being at Saint Bridget’s primary school. You’ve probably heard my name before because I’ve helped to run the last two Jump Rope for Heart days. I’ve also been involved in the conversation with the Council. I’ve also helped to run a few Wear It Purple days.

In 2020, I was in Sarah’s class. I liked Sarah’s class. It was good apart from the fact I burnt my hand really badly with a hot glue gun (I still have the scar). I was friends with Mia and Zali. Oh and COVID sucked! Our play for that year was about COVID 19, Donald Trump and Scomo. Oh and I was a superhero in the play.

In 2021, I was in Sarah’s class again! I still liked Sarah’s class. I don’t really have any memories from this year but I know that I was friends with Zali (Mia had left the school) and Lilith and I also know that my mother gave up on trying to force me do work so for most of that year I was wearing a mask and watching Youtube. Our play this year was about natural disasters and climate change. I was a tourist in the play.

In 2022, I was in Leesa’s/Vinnie’s class. I liked Leesa a lot. She was one of my favourite teachers. She got me into liking maths (I’m now on the Year 7 book). My friends that year were Lilith, Ariel and Emme. There were two people that year who were really mean and manipulative. So that sucked but anyway. In term 3, Leesa had to leave so for term 4 we had Vinnie as our teacher. Our play in 2022 was about Vegetables taking over the world, a few hitmen and a weird lady with a cape taking over the world. I was a hitman in the play.

In 2023, I was in Wendy’s class. I like Wendy. She is slay. I was on the Year 6 book (which I liked to flaunt to anyone who would listen because I was a Year 5. It was not my proudest moment). My friends that year were: Ariel, Skye and Amy. The two difficult people left this year. Our play was about kids getting lost on TV. I played one of the kids who got lost in the TV.

In 2024, I was still in Wendy’s class. Wendy is still slay because she will be slay for eternity. I’m now on the Year 7 Maths book but I’m not bragging about it anymore apart from this haha. My friends this year are: Lilete aka Lilith, Grace and Ariel (Amy and Skye left for high school). This year’s play is about a lawyer who killed an old rich man and changed his will. I played Marilyn Monroe.

Thank you to all my teachers and friends who helped me grow and learn. I’m so grateful to be where I am right now. If you didn’t know, I have a puppy at home named Daisy. I’m going to Turramurra High next year and I’m excited but sad to leave my friends and this wonderful school.
