My Time at Currambena by Evie

Preschool (2015-2016)

I don’t remember much about preschool, but I remember being friends with Henry, Wes, Scarlett, Rose, Lilith, Ira and Tt. I remember there was a big green slide where the tyres are now, and how fun that slide was. It’s sad that it had to go. I also remember making a plasticine world with all the layers of the earth, and learning about space a lot.  I loved playing in the blue cubby thing, and playing dress up.  My buddy was Natalie, and I played with Scarlett and her buddy (Scarlett).

Kindergarten

I don’t remember kindergarten like at all, but I do remember making a paper chain with Puffin. I also remember learning new words and moving up levels. Also in kindy, Chloe introduced ‘Baby Shark’ to everyone. Thanks A LOT Chloe. It’s been stuck in my head ever since. Apart from that, I don’t remember anything else, but the play. I was a chameleon (classic).  I also remember becoming friends with Zavier.

 (Rosie’s class)

I don’t remember anything about this class, but I was a scarecrow in the play, which was an awful play.

Sarah’s Class ( 2020-2021)

In Sarah’s class, I got separated from my friends (Scarlett, Rose, Henry, Wes) but I got to make friends with Zali, Mia, and kind of Skye, Amy, Zariah and Ruth. But idk if they thought of me as a friend….I was already friends with Ira and Piper so that was good. I did enjoy Sarah’s class (because I love Sarah) but I didn’t really enjoy Covid-19 because, well I don’t feel I need to explain, except being at home all the time was fun. Also doing the play was annoying because we couldn’t go to Norths so we had to do the play at school. I was Scott Morrison.  The second year was much the same, but my other friends were back! (except Wes) and I became best friends with Haz (a truly great decision). But this year I didn’t get to go to camp because of Covid.

Leesa’s Class

I loved Leesa’s class. It was really fun and I became friends with Ariel and Emme. And Rhea ( a truly strange decision ).  And even though Leesa said “everyone who comes out of my class ends up liking maths” I still don’t. When Leesa said she was leaving, I was so so sad, and I was crying a lot and so was Torah, which was really weird because she was only at school for like 7 days through the year, but anyway. Vinnie took over for the year and we had a really awful play except I was amazing, and slayed as corn, but we don’t talk about that.

Wendy’s Class (2023-2024)

The first year was okay…I shared a desk with Cooper and Ewan, which was kind of awful because me and Cooper got into a fight because HE threw his banana at me and then it got squished on my side of the desk. The maths/work got really hard and was a big step for me, plus we had to do folders and times tables, and excellenting books, so it was pretty hard but I got used to it. Camp was fun, (well Jervis Bay was) and walking up to the shops was so fun! The play was fun, even though I had a small role. This year has been fun except I absolutely hate the textbooks and the work is SO hard, and everyone keeps talking about high school, and I really wish people would stop talking about it to me (people who are reading this, TAKE A HINT. Also PLEASE STOP TELLING ME HOW TALL I AM ). We went to two camps this year Castle Mountain this year was…..Canberra was fun-ish, and I’m not trying to be rude I’m just being honest 🙂 but I am really excited for Jervis Bay. The play was so fun and being JLO (Jennifer Lopez) for my last play is iconic with a capital I.

So that was my time at Currambena, and special thanks to TBU for half raising me, Sarah M ( fav teacher, sorry everyone else), my parents for driving me to school everyday, grandma Wendy, and all my friends for making me happy.
