Minutes of School Meeting Term 4 Week 1

CHAIRPEOPLE: Emme and Harriet

1. Acknowledgement of country by the chairpeople.

2. Invitation to Council by Wendy.
Thank you to the children who worked on the letter to Council. It has been signed and sent and we hope to hear back from them soon. It was too little notice for any of them to come today. Sarah reminded everyone Council meets on Monday night and anyone is welcome to attend Council meetings.

3. Preschool slide rules by Katrina.
After some discussion, the meeting agreed on the following rules for the new slide:

  • Make a line at the top.
  • No pushing.
  • Only roll cars down if nobody is at the bottom.
  • Only pull one person down with a rope at a time.

4. Sun protection by Katrina.
Now that the weather is getting warmer the sun is more dangerous and exposure to UV rays can cause skin cancer. Everyone needs to use sunscreen and wear hats when they’re outside. Older children need to set an example for the younger ones.

5. Take turns on the basketball court by Hunter.
Hunter reminded us to be fair and take turns using the basketball space. Maybe 10 minutes each.

6. Tree house by Raffy and Luca.
Raffy and Luca told the meeting that there is some damaged rope in the tree house and it is not safe. Stay out of the tree house until it is fixed. The rope has been taken down so you can’t get up. Crafty said he would fix it today if the rain holds off.

7. Welcome to Jessica and Lily by Mabel.
Mabel welcomed and introduced two new Macquarie Uni student teachers who will be with Wendy’s group for the next two weeks.

Meeting adjourned. Preschoolers first. Wendy’s group stay to tidy the room. Do your Sustaining jobs.
