Meg’s class Week 3 term 4

Hi everyone,

In Maths, we revised our positional language and extended it further by providing more specific instructions.

We also looked at rhyming and created nonsense words, practising our word play skills.

On Wednesday, we spent time creating Día de los Muertos (Day of the Dead) masks while learning about the day and its importance in Mexican culture. The children learnt a song during Spanish time and performed it at the end of the day.

On Thursday afternoon, we started to explore the skeleton! We discussed the importance and use of bones and the skeleton. We had fun feeling all our bones, doing the skeleton dance, as well as discussing and comparing bones and x-rays.

Finally, to end the week, we had our magnificent Halloween Costume Parade! Everyone looked fantastic and very scary!

After what I hope was a very successful loot of lollies on Friday afternoon, a reminder that lollies are not to be in school lunchboxes. The school has an agreement against lollies at school. If you are unsure whether something classifies as a lolly, please ask me.

Thank you to those parents who have already volunteered to attend swimming and/or help out in the craft room. The more the merrier, so if you are yet to put your hand up, please do so, as your assistance is always appreciated. I previously sent an email regarding this, with dates, please input your availability on the Google Doc.

With love,
Meg
