Meg’s Class: Term 2 Week 9
Hi everyone,
The children have been working hard on their Carving Kingdom stories. This week, they will be putting the finishing touches on their writing by editing, revising and publishing their work in their special Carving Kingdom journals. In Maths, we’ve been exploring area. Alongside revising previously learned concepts and extending our understanding, we are now focusing on finding the area of irregular shapes.
A highlight of the week has been the start of our adaptation investigation projects. Each child has chosen an animal, insect or plant to research and is investigating the adaptations that help it survive in its environment. There have already been some fascinating choices and plenty of interesting discoveries.
Our final tennis session is taking place this week (despite my announcement last week that it was the last one!). Please make sure your child brings a drink bottle and wears appropriate clothing and shoes for sport on Tuesday. On Monday afternoon, we will be visiting Lane Cove Library. If there are any library books at home that need returning, please pop them into school bags ready for Monday.
With love,
Meg
