Meg’s Class: Term 2 Week 8
Hi everyone,
A short but busy week with a very exciting ending!
Our week started with our second specialist tennis lesson at Lane Cove Courts. The children’s skills are continuing to develop, and it has been great to see their confidence grow each week. We will have our final lesson this Tuesday, so please make sure drink bottles, hats and appropriate sporting shoes and attire are worn.
Hazel and Michael presented their PIPs this week, which means we have now finished all presentations for the term. Well done to everyone for the effort they put into preparing and sharing their learning.
In Maths, we continued looking at multiplication and division strategies, as well as some key vocabulary that helps us understand and solve questions as we begin tackling trickier problems.
In English, we explored what makes a strong opening to a story and why a great beginning is so important. This led us to begin drafting our own stories! We will continue developing and refining these right through until the end of term.
In preparation for our Friday night class ball, the children spent much of the week excitedly planning, organising and making the final touches to set up for the evening.
A big thank you to everyone who contributed food, we certainly needed plenty to fuel all the dancing! Thank you to Charlotte (Stella’s mum) for coming in and helping bring the children’s Under the Sea vision to life by hanging streamers and cellophaning windows. Another big thank you to Matt (Alana’s dad) for chaperoning the event and helping to ensure the children had a fantastic time.
Finally, congratulations to our Ball Committee, who worked hard over a number of weeks to organise the event. They were responsible for everything from creating and selling tickets, to making decorations, organising the playlist, and helping coordinate food, drinks, games and activities for everyone to enjoy.
It was a spectacular evening. The children looked incredible in their outfits and seemed to really enjoy themselves. It was so lovely to see them let loose, have fun and enjoy spending time together. There were lots of smiles, plenty of dancing, and some very special memories made.
