Meg’s Class: Term 1 Week 6

Hello Everyone,

This week, we focused on the importance of treating others with respect. We talked about the impact of our language and behaviour choices on others. We explored how hurtful words and actions can often be more about the person saying or doing them than the person they’re directed at. To explore this concept further, the children had the opportunity to either create a comic or perform a short play. On Tuesday afternoon, a few of the groups chose to perform their plays with Joanna’s class, The Axolotls.

In maths, we completed our study of the Cartesian Coordinate System and have now begun exploring numbers with three decimal places.

As we reach the midpoint of the term, students have been selecting new roles to help sustain our school community. Our older students have done a wonderful job supporting the younger ones as they settle into their new tasks, showcasing excellent leadership skills.

On Friday afternoon, we held a camp meeting. We reviewed previous agreements and discussed some changes to ensure everything runs smoothly for our upcoming adventure. Please be sure to check your emails for the latest updates. I’ve sent home the packing list, which is also available in your inbox for your convenience. We’re all looking forward to a fun and challenging few days at camp, where we’ll have the chance to try new activities and push ourselves in different ways. Camp is meant to be a little taste of stepping outside our comfort zones, in a safe and supported way. It’s normal to be a bit nervous but we are all in it together!

It’s going to be a big week ahead, and we’re excited for what’s to come!
